ABOUT MEGAN
Years ago I had the dream of opening my own establishment whether it be a restaurant, a cafe, or the like. There was a glimmer of hope several years ago and now, 100% woman-owned by me - Megan - I can say I am the proud owner of a small cafe inside the Ace Hardware in Heber City, Utah known as “Meg’s; the Timberline Cafe.”
I grew up in Sparta, New Jersey and have worked in the food service industry since I was thirteen. My first job was at a local bagel shop, and while attending a vocational high school for Culinary & Baking Arts, I continued to have a second job whether it was as a line cook at the local restaurant or a pastry cook at a banquet hall. It wasn’t hard to figure out that I love this industry so I continued my education at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York where I majored in Baking & Pastry Arts. Upon graduation, I migrated to Utah in 2014 and held a few various food-related jobs to include The Goldener Hirsch Inn, Zermatt Resort and Victory Ranch Club, still with the thought of owning my own place in the back of my mind.
In the winter of 2020 I was approached and asked if I had interest in opening my own place in the Ace Hardware. Ummm...YES?! Everything has come together pretty quickly and with only a few hiccups here and there, my dream is a reality. I am so grateful to the Heber Valley for welcoming me and allowing a “move-in” to open her own restaurant.
I’m looking forward to meeting each and every one of you and serving you some of my favorites, some of my friends’ favorites, and creating new items along the way.
As all of my friends say... "Everybody needs a Meg!"
